The Association of Clinical Pharmacologists (ACP) is committed to advancing clinical pharmacology and strengthening its contribution to patient care, medicines development, clinical research and pharmaceutical policy. The Society promotes the safe, rational and evidence-based use of medicines while supporting education, professional development and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Our Objectives
ACP seeks to:
- Increase awareness of clinical pharmacology and promote the application of its specialised knowledge and skills in patient care, drug development and pharmaceutical policy-making.
- Advance education, research and clinical services in the field of clinical pharmacology.
- Integrate clinical pharmacology into healthcare delivery and strengthen its role in patient management.
- Promote the rational use of medicines, including appropriate prescribing, dispensing and administration.
- Support pharmacovigilance by encouraging the documentation, evaluation and research of adverse drug reactions in the population.
- Help prevent the misuse and abuse of medicines through awareness, education and appropriate public-health initiatives.
- Improve access to reliable information about medicines for both the public and healthcare professionals, including information related to clinical toxicology and poison-management services.
- Contribute to effective medicines regulation by supporting rational, scientific, consistent and clearly defined regulatory policies and practices.
Encourage collaborative research that generates meaningful evidence in pharmacotherapeutics, pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics at local, national and international levels.
